Nicklas Wiberg set a new Swedish record in decathlon in Berlin’s Olympia Stadium on Thursday night. Although he came seventh overall in the competition, Wiberg’s score of 8,406 points beat Henrik Dagård’s record of 8,403 points, which had stood for 15 years. But the Track & Field World Championships in Berlin saw Swedish disappointment as well. After a strong start, Swedish high-jumper Emma Green couldn’t get over the 1.99 meter bar, landing her a seventh place finish. Croatian Blanka Vlasic later got the gold with jump of 2.04 meters.
