| Cancer Survival Rates Vary Widely in Southern Sweden There are large differences in the survival rates from cancer depending on where a person lives in southern Sweden.That's according to a study carried out into cancer cases there between the years 2000-2008.Twice as many patients with malignant lymphoma treated in Lund were still alive after five years compared to patienst with the same cancer type treated in north east Skåne and Blekinge. sr.se |

Sweden is known for its generosity when it comes to international development co-operation. Sweden is the only country which has allotted 1% of its GNI for the international development co-operation. But since the current government came to power three years ago it has made introduced new elements such as using part of the development assistance budget to finance certain projects. And now the minister in charge of international development co-operation says it may not be such a bad idea to use development assistance money to train Swedish who would serve in troubled areas around the world.But non-governmental organisations working with international development co-operation are opposed to the idea.
