| Doping Russians Banned Three Russian cross country skiers who tested positive for doping furing a World Cup biathlon event in Östersund in northern Sweden have each been banned for two years.Biathlon world champions Albina Akhatova, Ekaterina Iourieva and Dmitri Yaroshenko all tested positive for the blood-booster EPO.The trio were initially suspended after the World Cup event in Sweden in february and it has taken several months for the International Biathlon Union to make a final decision.All three, who are said to be planning to appeal, have been leading athletes in their sport, with Akhatova winning the Olympic relay gold in 2006 and three world titles. Life Without Parole Sweden is making world headlines today, but for all the wrong reasons, as Tuesday saw a Lebanese-born Swede sentenced to life imprisonment by a US court.Oussama Kassir was convicted of, among other things, trying to organise a terrorism training camp in the US state of Oregon. U.S. District Judge John Keenan called Kassir "a clear threat to public safety".
